British American Tobacco (BAT), industrial property developer CTP and logistics provider Raben Group have launched a HUF 5 billion logistics investment in Pécs, southwestern Hungary.
The 14,200-square-metre facility will provide 30,000 pallet spaces and support BAT’s expanding nicotine pouch manufacturing operations, with completion scheduled for the second half of 2027.
New logistics hub to support exports to 50 countries
The logistics centre will provide storage and distribution capacity for products manufactured at BAT’s Pécs operations, which supply international markets. According to BAT Hungary CEO Tamás Vargek, the new facility will support exports from the company’s nicotine pouch manufacturing centre to approximately 50 countries.
The investment follows a HUF 60 billion manufacturing expansion announced in 2024, which included the construction of a 7,500-square-metre nicotine pouch production hall and additional manufacturing capacity.
BAT previously said the expansion would create 450 jobs and add 16 production lines. The company currently operates three manufacturing units in Pécs, employing approximately 1,200 people. BAT Pécsi Dohánygyár recorded net sales revenue of HUF 216.8 billion in 2025.
CTP to install solar panels and heat-pump heating
The logistics facility is being developed through cooperation between BAT Pécsi Dohánygyár, Raben Trans European Hungary and CTP Management Hungary. The development is expected to involve approximately 80 Hungarian workers through CTP and 30 domestic small and medium-sized enterprises.
Raben Hungary will contribute its logistics expertise to the project, building on its existing relationship with BAT. The new warehouse is intended to improve storage capacity and the movement of products between manufacturing operations and export markets.
