Ashtanga Yoga meets Bucharest: International workshop with Bianca Oliveira

Organizers expect participants from across Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, and other neighboring countries

This October, Romania’s capital will host a high-profile wellness event that draws attention from the regional yoga community and beyond. From October 3rd to 5th, 2025, acclaimed international Ashtanga Yoga teacher Bianca Oliveira will hold an intensive 3-day workshop in Bucharest—her first time teaching in Romania.

Organized by Ashtanga Yoga Bucharest, the workshop reflects the growing popularity of traditional wellness disciplines in Central and Eastern Europe. It combines guided practice, Mysore-style sessions, and advanced workshops on inversions and backbends, each carefully crafted to offer both technical precision and spiritual depth.

Bianca Oliveira, an Authorized Level II teacher by Paramaguru Sharath Jois, is a globally respected figure in the Ashtanga world. Her journey from Brazil to Mysore, India, and her years of dedicated practice and teaching have earned her a loyal following across continents. Now based in Poland, she regularly leads retreats and workshops internationally.

A Cultural Bridge Between East and West

Beyond its physical and mental benefits, the event also marks a deeper cultural exchange, bringing ancient Indian traditions to Eastern Europe through a modern, global lens. In a region increasingly invested in holistic wellness, this workshop stands out as a symbol of spiritual entrepreneurship.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Led Primary Series (Friday): A traditional guided Ashtanga class to synchronize breath and movement.
  • Mysore Sessions (Saturday & Sunday): The hallmark of individualized Ashtanga practice.
  • Core & Inversions Workshop (Saturday): Strength training and headstand exploration.
  • Backbends & Nadi Shodana Workshop (Sunday): A deep dive into flexibility, energy flow, and heart-opening postures.

The workshop is being coordinated by local organizer Lidia Dumitru, who confirmed that places are limited. The full weekend program costs €180, while single-session drop-ins are available for €40.
