UNCHAIN Fintech Festival returns to Nagyvárad to redefine financial innovation in CEE

As fintech continues to reshape global markets, the UNCHAIN Fintech Festival, taking place June 17–18 in Nagyvárad, Romania, calls on the Central and Eastern European (CEE) business community to adopt a bold new perspective.

Now a cornerstone event in the region, UNCHAIN has become a vital platform for cross-industry collaboration, market expansion, and economic resilience. Notably, Ukraine’s fintech ecosystem remains actively engaged despite ongoing conflict.

This year’s edition will convene over 50 leading commercial banks from the region, 10+ national banks and regulatory bodies, and more than 200 fintechs and tech innovators. Around 700 participants are expected.

A key focus of the event will be the Fintersections track, which examines how embedded finance is transforming traditional industries. Attendees will explore topics like the integration of payments and insurance in fleet management, the emergence of retailers as fintech enablers through loyalty solutions, BNPL, and crypto, and the rise of alternative financing models.

UNCHAIN works closely with national fintech associations across the region—not only as event partners but also as ambassadors for their local ecosystems. The ongoing Unchain CEE Fintech Tour plays a critical role in strengthening cross-border relationships and highlighting influential voices.

Set against the historic backdrop of the Nagyvárad Fortress, the festival serves as a nexus for regional markets and innovation leaders. Since its launch in 2022, UNCHAIN has positioned itself as a launchpad for fintech in CEE region.
