Hungary’s self-service laundry operator Bubbles has made a splashy international debut by opening its very first outpost beyond the border in Bratislava, a move that underscores the chain’s aggressive ambitions to conquer CEE.
CEO András Szugyiczki shared with MTI that the network, bolstered by franchise partners who operate roughly half of the sites, racked up more than HUF 1.8 billion in revenue last year, a figure poised to climb to HUF 2.1 billion in 2026, driven by a whopping 860,000 washing and drying sessions across its Hungarian footprint.
This Slovakian flagship represents just the beginning of what Szugyiczki describes as a meticulously prepared regional rollout, with additional Bratislava units already in the pipeline alongside targeted openings in Trnava, Nitra, and Košice.
Bubbles leverages its model of oversized 11-16kg machines, 24/7 access, and app-powered bookings to tap into underserved urban demand for quick-turnaround laundry solutions.
Since launching as Hungary’s first non-stop self-service laundry network back in 2013, headquartered in Győr with a lean team of 15, Bubbles has methodically scaled to over 31 cities nationwide, including its 70th site in Nyíregyháza just last month.
