Budapest and Debrecen among the Top 200 happiest cities in the world

Budapest sits in the 110th place, and Debrecen in 142nd place among the Top 200 happiest cities in the world, according to the latest list compiled by the Institute for Quality of Life, based on 82 indicators.

Hungarian capital gained 700 points, ahead of Prague (153rd), Sofia (155th), and Warsaw (175th), but lags behind Vienna (Austria), ranked 12th with 918 points, and the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, which came 41st.

Most points, 173, were gained for the conscious implementation of advanced social policies, focusing on education, inclusivity, and the overall quality of life for their residents, and 162 for the quality of urban management, including support for the non-governmental sector.

Debrecen scored 646 points, the most, 160 for the conscious implementation of advanced social policies, focusing on education, inclusivity, and the overall quality of life for their residents, and 159 for the quality of urban management, including support for the non-governmental sector.
