In the past five months, shoppers have purchased more than half a billion forints’ worth of refurbished smartphones and laptops from Rejoy.hu using installment options, with every fifth order now paid through Klarna.
Until recently, installment-based purchases accounted for only a small fraction of Rejoy’s total orders. That changed last autumn, when Klarna’s “Buy Now, Pay Later” service was integrated into the platform, giving customers the option to split payments into three equal, interest-free monthly installments by bank card.
Rejoy.hu currently allows customers to buy devices worth up to HUF 600,000 using Klarna installments, effectively widening access to the latest refurb inventory. In this price bracket, certain models from last year’s iPhone 17 series are already available on the platform.
Premium refurbished devices in high demand
Shoppers using Klarna installments gravitate toward relatively new models, led by Apple’s iPhone 15 and 16 series. Within this range, the premium Pro and Pro Max versions in like-new cosmetic condition are the strongest performers.
One of the standout products is the 2020 MacBook Air. Despite being a few generations old, the model continues to outperform similar-priced new laptops in terms of battery life and everyday performance.
