Wolt has processed more than 230 million retail-product orders in Europe since 2015, as the platform increasingly shifts beyond restaurant delivery into groceries, electronics, pet supplies, health and beauty products and other retail categories.

More than 2 million people a month now order retail products through Wolt across Europe, while retail accounts for more than one-quarter of the company’s global sales, based on fourth-quarter 2025 data.

Grocery order value jumps 46%

The strongest growth is coming from customers using the platform for larger and more regular purchases. The value of grocery orders placed through Wolt increased 46% in 2025, while 48% of shopping baskets now contain at least 10 items.

Repeat usage is also high. Six out of ten customers who order non-food products through Wolt return to place another retail order the following month. Non-food categories including electronics, pet supplies, beauty and health products have more than tripled their share of Wolt’s retail sales since 2022.

Retail partner network grows 43%

Wolt had more than 40,000 active retail partners on its platform by the fourth quarter of 2025, representing annual growth of 43%. Around 28% of customers buying from a retailer through Wolt were making their first purchase from that merchant.

Black Friday electronics sales rise 440%

Seasonal events generate some of Wolt’s strongest retail demand. Across Europe, weekly non-food sales during major cultural and holiday periods are 22% to 39% above the normal weekly median.

Flower sales rise to around 32 times their usual level on Valentine’s Day, while electronics sales increase 440% during Black Friday. Toy and board-game sales climb 133% during the holiday season. The same pattern appears around International Women’s Day.

European online spending reaches €842 billion

According to the European E-commerce Report 2025 cited in the company’s study, 73% of Europeans shopped online in 2024, while regional online spending reached €842 billion, up 7% year-on-year.

The Helsinki-based technology company was founded in 2014 and joined forces with DoorDash in 2022. Together, the companies operate in 34 countries, with Wolt active as the leading brand in 31 of those markets.
