Fintech powerhouse Revolut is rolling out a Hungarian bank branch for its 2 million local customers, marking the 10th such EEA outpost after regulatory approval from Hungary’s Central Bank (MNB).

Registered as “Revolut Bank UAB Magyarországi Fióktelepe,” the branch starts onboarding select new users soon, with existing retail customers migrating gradually, at least two months after email notification.

Hungary joins Revolut’s growing local banking footprint in France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Germany, Portugal and Belgium, bringing Hungarian IBAN accounts to all eligible users.

This localises services, diversifies products and tailors offerings for Hungarian needs while deposits remain protected up to €100,000 by Lithuania’s Deposit Guarantee Fund.

2M milestone and regulatory green light

Revolut hit 2 million Hungarian retail users in July 2025. The October 2025 MNB registration clears the path; the branch activates fully post-first onboardings. Regulated by the ECB and Bank of Lithuania, Revolut Bank serves 30 EEA markets.

Migration keeps seamless service; new joiners get Hungarian accounts immediately. For Hungary’s digital natives, it means faster local payments, better integration and expanded banking amid Revolut’s EEA push.
