The former City Center office building on Budapest’s Deák square is being transformed into a hotel under the Canopy by Hilton brand, following a successful €21.8 million capital raise by Realis WAM Alapkezelő.

A newly signed franchise agreement brings the Canopy by Hilton concept to the landmark location, turning the originally office-focused building into a hospitality destination. The renovation follows the vision of Realis WAM, with designs by Finta Stúdió and MádiLáncos Studio.

The interior architecture concept pays tribute to Bauhaus, brutalist and modernist traditions, with a special acknowledgment of the work of Marcel Breuer, the Pécs-born Hungarian architect who became one of the most influential figures of 20th-century design.

Rooftop restaurant, bar and outdoor fitness

At the top level, the hotel will feature a 240 sqm restaurant, a roof terrace, a rooftop bar and an outdoor fitness area, creating a new social and leisure hub in the heart of Budapest. These elements are designed to capitalize on the building’s central location and views over the city.

Realis WAM, the asset management arm of the Realis Group, currently manages assets valued at HUF 18 billion, sourced 45% from institutional investors and 55% from private investors.
