Budapest is set to regain one of its most important long-haul connections as flydubai resumes direct flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) from July 31.
The airline will initially operate three weekly flights, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, before increasing the service to daily flights from October 25, ahead of the winter travel season.
The Dubai-based carrier first launched the Budapest route in 2021. Operating under the Emirates–flydubai codeshare agreement, passengers can book a single itinerary, check baggage through to their final destination and connect seamlessly to destinations across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean.
The Dubai-Budapest route has experienced an unusually turbulent year
Earlier in 2026, flights were suspended as escalating tensions involving Iran disrupted regional airspace and forced airlines to adjust operations across the Middle East. Services briefly resumed in May with reduced frequencies, but flydubai later extended the suspension until the end of July, citing temporary scheduling and operational reasons.

Through the Emirates–flydubai partnership, travellers departing Budapest gain efficient one-stop access to markets including India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Oman, Kenya and numerous destinations across the Gulf region.
