Budapest Airport is heading into the summer peak season with more than 7,000 parking spaces and nearly 90 electric charging points available for passengers. The biggest new addition is Relax Parking, which opened on June 1 and adds about 2,000 long-stay spaces to the airport’s offer.
Relax Parking is positioned as a lower-cost option for long stays and also includes nearly 50 EV charging stations. A shuttle bus connects the car park with the terminal every 15 minutes, with a journey time of around 8 minutes. Passengers can also walk from the car park to the terminal in about 15 minutes.
Drop-off and pickup options
Ferenc Liszt International Airport is also keeping short-stop traffic moving. A dedicated drop-off and pickup zone is available at Terminal Parking, just a few minutes’ walk from the terminal via a covered walkway. That provides an alternative to the Premium Drop-off area on the departure level.
Public transport upgrades
The airport is also looking to improve the experience for passengers arriving by public transport. Budapest Airport supports increasing the frequency of the 100E Airport Express bus service, which would help improve reliability and convenience.
Beyond transport links, the airport is preparing additional operational projects, including a pre-boarding zone and a ticket validation system. Those changes are aimed at making passenger handling more efficient.
Taxi and car sharing
For taxi users, Budapest Airport’s contracted partners are Főtaxi and Uber. The regular taxi stand is located on the arrivals level of Terminals 2A and 2B. Uber passengers can use standard rides from the 2A side, while larger or XXL requests are available from the 2B side. Car-sharing services including GreenGo, MOL Limo and Wigo are also available at the airport.
