Wolt has moved into Europe’s top 10 online grocery sellers, according to Flywheel Digital, marking a major milestone for the Helsinki-based platform as it expands well beyond restaurant delivery.

The company said retail sales now account for more than a quarter of its global marketplace value. Wolt said monthly retail customers grew by more than 30% in 2025, while orders per user increased 12%, as shoppers increasingly turn to the app for convenience and speed.

Non-food categories are also gaining traction. They now make up about one-third of retail orders, with health and beauty, pet supplies and electronics among the fastest-growing segments.

A VML survey cited by Wolt found that 32% of shoppers now expect delivery within two hours, while 40% are reluctant to buy from retailers that do not offer next-day or scheduled delivery.

Wolt’s expansion is supported by product and technology upgrades, including a refreshed app, online storefronts, advertising tools and Wolt Capital financing for merchants. The company said it works with more than 200,000 restaurants and stores across 30-plus countries, including more than 40,000 retail partners.
